An independent, African-led organization working to break cycles of impunity across the Horn of Africa.
OJAH is an independent, African-led nonprofit organization advancing survivor-centred justice and accountability in the Horn of Africa. We work to break cycles of impunity by documenting violations, preserving credible evidence, supporting survivors, and engaging partners committed to truth, dignity, and justice.
OJAH brings together multidisciplinary expertise in human rights investigation, law, public health, trauma-informed documentation, survivor-centred practice, community engagement, advocacy and evidence management.
A just and peaceful Horn of Africa where survivors are heard, perpetrators are held accountable, and all communities are protected by the rule of law.
OJAH advances justice and accountability in the Horn of Africa by documenting human rights violations, preserving credible evidence, supporting survivors and mobilizing communities and partners to confront impunity and protect human dignity.
OJAH was established to strengthen African-led responses to international crimes and human rights violations. Our work is grounded in local leadership, community trust and lived experience so that justice is not only pursued, but understood, shaped and owned by the people most affected.
