The Case for an African-Led Response

OJAH was established to strengthen African-led responses to international crimes and human rights violations. Our work is grounded in local leadership, community trust and lived experience so that justice is not only pursued, but understood, shaped and owned by the people most affected.

Our Leadership
OJAH is led by a board of five accomplished multi-disciplinary leaders with diverse backgrounds providing strategic oversight and advancing the organization’s human rights mandate. Because our work involves sensitive documentation and investigations across the Horn of Africa, we protect the privacy and security of our leadership, staff, and partners. For this reason, only selected board members are publicly listed.
