About Us

Establishment

The Organization for Justice and Accountability in the Horn of Africa (OJAH) is an independent, African-led civil society organization promoting justice and accountability in the Horn of Africa region. OJAH began its work as an informal grassroots network of human rights defenders and health professionals documenting atrocity crimes on the ground in Ethiopia . Over the course of three years, this network was formalized and OJAH was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  

Mission

To mobilize the people of the Horn of Africa in a peaceful but unwavering struggle against tyranny, state violence, and injustice through education, documentation, memorialization, protection, and solidarity to build resilient communities and institutions rooted in the values we fight for.
